Welcome to Practice Makes Perfect, an advanced acting on camera class designed specifically for adults who are ready to take their skills to the next level!

Our innovative and engaging approach will ensure that you get the most out of your experience with us. We'll be focusing on the essential skills needed to book film, TV and commercial jobs, with a particular emphasis on cold reading and script analysis.
​
Through a series of mock auditions, you'll have the opportunity to practise and refine these skills in a real-world environment, with constructive feedback and self-reflection at the core of our approach. This will help you to build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in the highly competitive world of acting on camera.

You'll learn how to make bold choices, connect with the camera and develop a dynamic on-camera presence that will set you apart from the competition. But the learning doesn't stop there! Each participant will leave with a minimum of 4 pieces of filmed work from class, allowing you to watch yourself back and analyse your performances with a critical eye.
Improv

You'll learn the art of improvisational theatre in a supportive and playful environment. Through a variety of interactive games and exercises, you'll learn how to think on your feet, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with others.

Our class is designed for those who want to improve their public speaking, team building, and creative problem-solving skills while having a blast in the process. Intro to Acting on Camera

This class offers an immersive and professional experience designed to introduce beginners to the art of acting on camera. Whether you're looking to pursue acting as a career or simply want to try something new and engaging, this class is perfect for you.

Throughout the class, participants will learn the essentials of acting on camera, including partnered scene work, audition techniques, film lingo, set etiquette all while receiving personalized feedback and guidance to help you hone your skills and gain a deeper understanding of the craft.
At the end of the course, participants will receive one headshot and two pieces of filmed work, which can be used to showcase their talent and build their acting portfolio.
Live Radio Play: Vintage Hitchcock

Spies, murder, love and other trademarks of Alfred Hitchcock come to life in the style of a 1940's radio broadcast of the master of suspense's earlier films.

NEW - Scene Study , where actors delve deep into the art of character exploration. In this intensive class, participants dissect scenes , honing their craft through in-depth analysis and performance refinement. Through practical exercises and guided discussions, actors develop a nuanced understanding of character motivations and relationships, elevating their scene work to new heights. Designed for students with a passion for acting, this course provides a supportive environment for actors to challenge themselves and grow as artists.
Please note this class is an advanced class and that a minimum of Intro for Acting on Camera ( or the equivalent) is necessary to participate.
Self Tape Boot Camp

Self Tape Boot Camp is the perfect mini workshop to learn all the technical ins and outs of a self tape and how to send it off! Whether you are applying to agents, auditioning for Indy Films or working on your at home set up for professional auditions, this is for you!
You will bring your own filming device (phone, camera, tablet, etc.) and a device to edit on (phone, laptop, tablet) and we will teach you the tricks of the trade! We will cover how to create the perfect at home set up, how to work with a reader, filming and framing, editing, saving and sending of a self tape!
*** Must email Sitka in Advanced with what device they will be using for filming and editing.
